Q: What’s the best drugstore in Canada to buy drugs online?
I need to buy Advair, a 250 mg Diskus costs $175 here in the US. In Canada the same product costs around 1/3 of the price. But the question is: Which drugstores in Canada are trustworthy?
Thanks in advance.
A: =here is a good link for you.
Q: Is ADVAIR SAFE TO TAKE?
My dr gave me a script for it to help with my illness. I have bronchitis and have had quite a bit of wheezing. I usually am on pro air as an inhaler which I don’t use much. I started reading online about advair and now I am like really afraid to even try it. So I am suffering right now because I can’t get enough courage to take a puff off of it.
A: I wouldn’t automatically say any prescription, drug, supplement, or food was always “safe” because there are always potential problems (allergies, side effects, etc). http://www.drugs.com/advair.html specifically points out:
“Serious side effects:
*bronchospasm (wheezing, chest tightness, trouble breathing);
*fast or uneven heart beats, restless feeling, tremor;
*fever, chills, stabbing chest pain, cough with yellow or green mucus;
*blurred vision, eye pain, or seeing halos around lights;
*white patches or sores inside your mouth or on your lips; or
*worsening asthma symptoms.
Less serious Advair side effects include:
*headache, dizziness;
*nausea, vomiting, diarrhea;
*dry mouth, nose, or throat;
*stuffy nose, sinus pain, cough, sore throat; or
*hoarseness or deepened voice.
This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur.”
All drugs have side effects, but each person needs to decide for themselves (ideally with the help of their doctor) if the benefits are better than the side effects. There are other options out there (some drugs, some natural options), so you’re not limited to only taking this product. Good luck and I hope I helped!
Q: What are the risks associated with Advair medication for Asthma?
I have heard and read that Advair damages heart in the long run. Is that true? I have been using Advair since late 2005 and recently i had some left side chest pain on thursday.
I did not see the doctor regarding chest pain and since Friday, i did not experience any chest pains and am doing fine. I am 30, so it is unusual for me to have experienced the kind of sharp chest pain i went through on Thursday.
I was curious to know if Advair caused the chest pain. I read some negative article about asthma online –
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/06/05/AR2006060501126.html
A: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
My favorite side effect listed on Advair is. : Warning can cause Asthma related deaths:
go figure that out. The medication was given to me because I have cough variant asthma and coughed daily for 6 months before someone said OH its Asthma. I know I do get a short of chest pain type thing if I use my albuterol rescue inhaler more then 2 puffs.
Q: take advair @ noon and drink alcohol at night?
i took my advair @ approximately 11:45AM and am going to a halloween party @ 10:30PM. which is almost 12 hrs later. the only thing it says online is that it could impair your driving but i will not be driving because i would never get behind the wheel after drinking.
has anyone else drank while on advair?
i am also on singulair but i called the pharmacist and he said that it would only make me sleepy and thats if it was even in my body anymore because i took that @ noon.. im just curious about advair.
i called cvs pharmacy and they said it wont affect me.
A: As far as I know, I don’t think there is an adverse reaction between Advair and alcohol. I think with Advair you’re supposed to take it maybe twice a day, once in morning and once at night. Just try not to drink too much if you take it again at night. But if you take it during morning and drink later in the night, I don’t think it should do anything
Advair is just a steroid with a B-agonist. The only thing is that the B-agonist may make your heartbeat a little faster and so don’t drink too much.
Singulair is just a leukotriene inhibitor. It might cause some gastrointestinal upset but it shouldn’t be affected too much if you drink alcohol.
Q: What are the alternatives to Advair?
Hello,
I’ve been on Advair for quite sometime. Maybe 4 years? I’ve had asthma since I was 2; I am 25 now. I was amazed at how well this medicine worked. After eventually reading medical concerns and warning, I am stressing out a bit. I have noticed I did put on weight over the years (not a lot, maybe 20lbs). I have been getting leg cramps a lot and after doing some searches it seems quite common that people have complained about this. I also seem to get heart palpitations, or heart racing, and overall very nervous & anxious.
I am currently on 250/50 dose. I *AM* going to speak to my doctor and I won’t be using medical advice from people online, however, ultimately I’d like to get some ideas to bring to her. Are there alternatives that work JUST as well? Would switching to the lower dose of 150/50 be smarter?
I’m reluctant to get off of Advair simply because PRIOR to having some kind of asthma control medicine, I would use my rescue inhaler. I would end up being hospitalized once a year or once every other year on average. I haven’t been in the hospital for about 3 years now…and I think it’s because of advair. But, I’m also afraid if get off of advair my body is going to react crazy and cause me problems. Basically, I believe I’ll drop dead if I don’t take it anymore
So, any advice with this? Has anyone felt what I have been going through and switched over to something else? I could use all of the input/advice I can get.
Thank you so much.
A: Talk to your doctor about your symptoms. Symbicort is quite similar to Advair.
The palpitations, etc may be just from the anxiety. Longer acting meds are less likely to cause them than short acting meds like albuterol.
Q: What happens if you swallow Advair powder rinse?
Honestly, its been 24 hrs since I’ve taken it and I can’t remember if I rinsed it out when I took a swig of water, or I swallowed it. And I can’t find any info online about it either.
I took it over 48 hours ago, and had a serious panic attack within 15 minutes of taking it. I’ve been sick for a week now, but I’ve been feeling even more terrible these past couple of days.
Is there some sort of risk if you DO swallow the residue? I rinsed my mouth out extremely well afterwards, but I cannot remember for the life of me if I swallowed it first or not. I was distracted. Could something happen if I DID swallow it? Can’t get to the doctor till tomorrow, but I’m worried.
CORRECTION: Over 48 hours.
A: I used to take Advair, and i don’t think I washed my mouth out often. It’s probably not going to hurt you at all, and maybe at worst will give you an upset stomach.
Q: Does anyone know what asthma medications have been recalled or changed by the government?
My almost 2 year old was in the hospital for 2 days the weekend before Thanksgiving. She had pneumonia and was diagnosed with asthma and some sort of airway distress syndrome. They put her on a Flovent inhaler 2 times a day, and also albuterol treatments when she needs them and when she gets sick. But I have been hearing about medications being recalled and changed. Even my friends Albuterol inhaler looks different now because her doctor said they are changed. I’m going to call my doctor in the morning, but I’m wondering if anyone knows anything now. I tried to find some things online, but all I could find were things on Advair. Let me know if you know of anything. Thanks.
A: please visit this website – http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/12/11/AR2008121101431.html
I always go to an FDA site to verify these type of things. the meds have not been recalled yet, it recommended that GlaxoSmithKline’s Serevent and Foradil should be used with a corticosteroid.
Hope this helps, my son is 2.5 years old and has non-allergic asthma, but we do not use these meds.
Q: Problem with pain under ribs that has been going on for years?
So, I don’t know how long it has been going on, but I get these pains under my ribcage. I know it has been going on for a few years, but it was never constant. Maybe once or twice a month. It’s always under the part of my ribs that is not covered by my breasts, but it’s always under my ribs. Never down farther. It has always been in my left side until yesterday when it happened once in my right side. Sometimes it seems to be close to my left side, and then other times it’s closer to the middle of my abdomen. It seems to be directly beneath my ribs. The pain is quick and sharp and I can’t breathe when it’s going on, but it comes on so suddenly that I have no idea if it happens only when I am breathing in. It usually only lasts a second or two, but sometimes it can be more, but never more than a minute.
It has been happening a lot lately. In fact, yesterday it happened four times. Three times in the left side of my abdomen, and once in the right.
Some Medical history:
I have asthma and use Albuterol at least twice a day. I used to be on Advair for 3 years, but it seems to make me gain weight so I quit using it. Two weeks ago now, my doctor put me on Symbicort.
I have had chronic kidney stones since I was 6, having to have surgeries about once every year to year and a half since I was 15. I take nothing specifically for this; usually not even pain meds when i have them.
I have allergies and take one Zyrtec everyday starting in September of 2009.
I have PMDD and take a 250 mg tablet of magnesium everyday because I read online that it could possibly help with PMDD and Kidney stones. Further readings indicated that even if that was not the case, I still was not getting enough Magnesium everyday, and figured I might as well start taking it whether it really helps or not.
I’m not a big drinker, though over the holidays I was drunk for a good percentage of the time. However, in the last tree weeks, I have only consumed alcohol once.
I do not smoke regularly. I tried smoking for the first time about a month ago, but I have never smoked an entire cigarette, and I only smoke when I am drunk. Which as I said before is not very often, especially for a college student. I’m not around it very often either.
Help?
A: It could possibly be your gallbladder or you could be aggravating your pancreas – So have you gone to the MD about this yet – Since you are on so many meds, I would let the Md know what happening – It could possibly be your medication that is responsible for your problem
Q: What direction is this bloodwork going?
I had some blood work done a month ago. Everything came up within normal ranges except whats below:
ESR 32 Range 0 – 30
WBC 34 Range 3.8 – 10.8
Neut% 41.9 Range 42.2 – 75.2
Neut# 1.4 Range 1.5 – 7.2
Monos% 10.0 Range 1.7 – 9.3
MCHC 31.8 Range 32.0 – 36.0
HGB 11.4 Range 12.0 – 15.6
Rheumatoid Factor was 4 Range <14 so that was normal.
As I look it up online, I keep getting referred to Systemic Lupus Erythematosus sites.
Im African American. I have stiff/sore joints mostly in my knees and ankels. The last few months, Ive been having a little trouble swallowing and intermittent coughing (I attributed that to Lisinopril). And I control my Asthma with Advair.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
A: the only thing that catches my eye right away is your ESR which seems high to me (our reference range is 0-15) it is usually characteristic of inflammation. your WBC count is also very high. the rheumatoid factor thing being normal is what is throwing me off though.
talk to your doctor about SLE and see what he thinks. also, ask him if having an ANA titer would be a good move for you (if you havent had one already)
good luck
