Q: When will Advair go generic and be more affordable?
I have asthma and absolutely need Advair. Problem is, I won’t have insurance soon (no job yet) and can’t afford $225 a month to pay for the stuff. Does anyone know when it will go generic or do know any cheaper alternatives?

A: Depending on how long it’s been out, at least one year from the time it was released into the market. My fiance is a pharmacist, I can ask him about it. He would definitely know.

Q: Is there a generic drug equivalent to Advair? What do you use to help with YOUR asthma?
I have been taking Advair for years now and it is super expensive and it doesn’t seem to be working as well as it used to either. Does anyone know if Asmanex works liek Advair and is it cheaper? Are there any other generic drugs to help prevent asthma? I have never had a SERIOUS attack but I get mild ones/wheezing off/on. Does anyone use anything herbal that helps with it? Thanks!
Forgot to mention – I usually have asthma in the night/early morning. And sometimes I feel like I can’t catch a full breath – but I have never known if that’s anxiety or asthma and my Dr didnt seem to know either… Also, I tend to get thrush in my throat from the Advair so I’d really like to get away from it !

A: Asmanex is only a steroid to act as a preventative medication. You will still get the thrush from it if you do not rinse you mouth after using it. Your doctor and pharmacist probably didn’t tell you about washing out your mouth. If you don’t you will get thrush. This is a brand new medication so I doubt it would be cheaper.

Advair is a steroid and a bronchodilator. This is a more effective medication. If it is used properly and continuously it is a very good medication. It is only to be used twice a day. You may need to increase the strength.

Anxiety can pose as a mild asthma attack. I have seen this many times. One thing that may help you know the difference is to try what is called pursed-lip breathing. This is done by exhaling with you lips partially closed to slow down the airflow out of your lungs. Do that for several breaths and if you feel better then it is most likely anxiety. If it doesn’t help used your rescue inhalor which should be xopenex, albuterol, or combivent or something of that sort.

If you use your rescue inhalor more than 2 times in a 2 week period then you are using it to much and need an adjustment in medications.

Visit this web page for more help. It is good.

Q: serevent or advair generic eqvilalents?
Is there a generice that I can buy for SEREVENT, Iknow it is SALMETROL, but is there a cheaper generic. Same for ADVAIR.

A: Unfortunately there are not generic forms of these medications. The discus medications are so new that they are not able to be reproduced to make generic forms.
Its unfortunate that they are so expensive because they are both excellent controlled medications for many with asthma and copd.

Q: Is there a generic name for Advair?
I have recently been prescribed Advair 250/50, 2 x per day, 7 days a week. It’s $185.00/mo at Meijer, Walmart, Walgreens, etc. Any ideas where I can get it for less per month?

A: There isn’t a generic yet.

If you don’t have insurance, here’s a link to the manufacturer’s patient assistance programs.

Good luck!

Q: Is there a generic form of Advair or Zyrtec?

A: In the US, there are currently no generic form of Advair or Zyrtec avaiable. Sorry but you’re going to have to pay the high co-pays until they can make a generic.

I know… insurance sucks.

Q: Is there a generic for Advair 500/50 diskus yet? If so, how much?

A: No generic for Advair as yet.

Q: Is there a generic for Advair? If not when? Thank you.?

A: I personally do not think there’s a generic for Advair…unfortunately. If there is, I’d like to know about it, too. I’m “supposed” to be on Advair, too; but because of the high cost, I can’t afford it. So, I go without it.

Q: generic equivelents for advair andspiriva handihaler?

A: there are none at least not in canada, maybe in the states, but i doubt it.. they’re expensive huh?

The doctor should know if there are any generics for it, or just ask him to prescribe something that is more affordable

Q: I have C.O.P.D. Are there any generic forms of Spiriva or Advair?
I take Spiriva once per day and Advair 500/50 twice per day. Also, I’m on O2 24/7, Albuterol nebs and inhaler. My insurance is paying about half and the cost is still high. I would like to live as long as possible but, I don’t think I can afford it.
I smoked for 52 years and quit smoking 2 years ago.

A: I use Advair Diskus as well and know there is no generic available and how outrageously high your co-payment still is. But I did was went online to that drug manufacturers’ site,
www.advair.com and registered and got regular $10 off coupons for Advair in the mail. It’s been a while since I did it, so I can’t remember much more, but it sure helped. Also, by using the coupons before they expired and answering a couple easy questions with a postage paid card, I even got incentives and a black leather pouch to keep my disk in. Cool. here’s GlaxSmithKline’s # too:
1-800-879-9505.

Q: I take advair, seroquel, and lexapro, what would be the closest in generic medication?
looking for equals for brand name meds for generics

A: Celexa is the generic of Lexapro

Q: How long has Advair discus inhalers been around? When will Generics become available (ala: zyrtec)?
How long has Advair discus inhalers been around? When will Generics become available (ala: zyrtec)?

A: Advair is a unique drug- It has been on the market for some time, but seemingly hasn’t been allowed to become generic at this point. I haven’t heard any rumor of it doing so yet at this time either.

“Pill” forms are not as effective- I am unsure of your source but these medications are meant to be inhaled not swallowed… But Advair is made up of two ingredients. you can get these inhalers individually sometimes for cheaper. Also if cost is the issue- Flovent and Pulmicort have been on the market longer and are much cheaper. These are both corticosteroids simular to one of the components of advair. Talk to your dr to find a cheaper alternative that may be just as effective.

Q: Walmart Prescription Pricing for Non Generic Drugs, where can I find it?
I’m trying to find the price for non-generic drugs on Walmart.com, specifically for Lamictal 150mg and Advair.

If anyone has a link to where I can find that I would greatly appreciate it! I’ve tried searching the Walmart site and Google with no luck.

A: Call the nearest Walmart and ask the pharmacist. They will not post any price because of the competition.

Q: An Advair/asthma Question.?
I’ve taken advair for 3-4 years….it was the miracle drug that helped me get my life back. But then I graduated college and got my own insurance which doesn’t cover it fully. A full 40 out of the 258….I can’t afford 200 a month. Is there anything else I can use that is cheaper…different meds, a generic? I stopped taking it the past 2 years and these past 4 months were so bad I barely be able to breath gasping for air just from walking in the cold air from a building to my car. I need this but can’t afford it and am looking for options.
Thanks in advance.

A: http://canadianhealthcarepharmacy.com/search/?q=advair

You can purchase it there for only $25…. a good bit of people I know usually end up purchasing their pricey meds from here

***Symbicort as far as I know is more expensive than Advair. Cutting back to once a day??? That is so not smart… I have never ever heard of any dr doing that and trust me I have worked at many many many hospitals, rehabs, ltac’s etc…. it is meant to be taken twice a day… the drugs last +/- 12 hours, therefore should be taken twice a day in order to prevent asthma symptoms..

Q: Edit this into correct english please.. 10 points!?
Advair Diskus is an inhaled drugs contains Fluticasone, an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid, and Salmeterol, a bronchodilator of the beta-2 agonist type. Fluticasone works by prevent the release of substances, while Salmeterol works by relaxing muscles in the airways to improve breathing.
Advair Diskus is a prescription drugs used to treat Asthma and Chronic Bronchitis.
Advair Diskus’s generic drugs are Fluticasone/Salmeterol or other name that contain this active ingredient. Sold at much lower price than it branded counterpart. The calculation below will show you.

Q: If Cold air Triggers Asthma is it bad to run in the cold?
I have been Asthmatic for many years although i still try and exercise. Running is good for asthma correct?

Also, I know when running in the cold I’m quickly out of breath and grabbing for my inhaler…If i continue to run in the cold, will I improve my breathing or just do damage?

Also, since i cannot afford my prescribed inhalers such as abuterol and Advair, I now just just a generic one from wal-mart which isn’t the best=/..is this alright for someone who is asthmatic normally taking more serious medication?

A: dude, i’d just do some jumping jacks inside the house or something, asthma sucks, and there is no reason to take a risk if you don’t have to.
